Frida...

If you are not already aware, the eagerly-awaited exhibition of the work of the celebrated Mexican artists Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera opened to the public at the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) on Wednesday 6 April 2011. ‘Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera: Masterpieces of the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Collection’ features many of the artists’ most iconic paintings and offers a rich insight into the work and lives of the two central figures of Mexican Modernism. Posthumously, Frida Kahlo has been the inspiration of artists and designers alike. The most recent of these influences can be seen in the work of Brazilian designer Adriana Barra. She has taken inspiration from Kahlo's personal style in her 2011 winter collection
